About The Author

 

Gayle Watson is fiction, non-fiction writer, a poet, and a

screenwriter. A Metropolitan State College of Denver graduate,

she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

 

Her work has appeared in numerous national magazines including

Cats magazine and several independent publications including

fanzines. As a co-writer on a book for carrier security in the

trucking industry, she earned a 2002 Apex Award for Publication

Excellence. Her book A Life With Cats: Poems of Felines, Fate,

and Family earned a 2004 CIPA Book Award.

 

Her young adult non-fiction book Creating Ideas: Discover

Writing Topics in Daily Life has been an instant hit with educator’s across the country. Gayle has travelled to private, public, and charter schools inspiring both students and teachers with her “topic detective” presentation. She has also appeared at Library Association Shows and Book Expo.

 

Her Creating Ideas Educator Guidebook has received much enthusiasm as a companion to the non-fiction book. She continues to support and have an open dialogue with educators about inspiring children to excel in writing and be excited about writing.

 

Gayle moved to California in 2006 and has been pursuing screenwriting. Several companies have read her scripts and heard pitches for current specs and upcoming ideas.

 

She resides in California with Lovey and Millie and is currently working on her next book or screenplay.

Gayle L. Watson started City Life Books in 2002 as a creative outlet for her writing passion. In the last seven years, City Life has grown from one screenplay and one book, to several books, several screenplays, speaking engagements, gifts and gift boxes at holiday time.
